Nothing made sense to me anymore and all I wanted was for the pointless fighting to end. I feel like we’re often so caught up with trying to be heard that we end up unable to listen to each other. Though I’m still learning to ground myself during those intense situations, I know it’s so hard to keep calm when remarks become petty and cross the line. I’ve found it helpful to remember that everybody hurts, and that I don’t have to let the cycle of hate and resentment continue. Hopefully we’ll all be able to have tough conversations without letting our pride get in the way. Hopefully we can learn to understand and love one another.
